Our non-contact dryers cover all types of P&B applications from very light to high grammages.

Infrared dryers are strongly recommended to be installed directly after the coater application to immobilize as quickly as possible graphical coatings with uniform drying through the coating thickness, ensuring an optimal quality. 
 Once coating is consolidated,  the rest of the drying can be completed with traditional dryers such as air-dryers or steam-heated cylinders.

We developed new technology of high efficient infrared emitters to increase drying capacity and reduce the gas consumption at the same time. 
 In addition of that, after coating stations for example we generally combine both gas Infrared and air dryers. Our Energy Recovery System (ERS) consists in reusing the hot exhaust air coming from the IR dryers to replace make-up air of air-dryers. With this concept, the energy consumption of the air dryer is drastically reduced.

One of the big advantages of IR dryer is its compactness. Consequently, IR dryer can generally be installed one existing production line without any major rebuild. The high-power density of IR will increase the production capacity. If the line is already equipped with an IR dryer, we can as well replace existing IR emitters with more powerful one without any change in the system.

A bad moisture profile on end product generates non-quality costs and impacts the production capacity. Indeed, to overcome this issue, P&B manufacturers are generally forced to over-dry their product to limit the moisture profile peaks at the reel. This generates unnecessary additional costs and a decrease in production. With our IR profiling systems, we can reach a flat moisture profile at the reel by drying only the wet areas of the product increasing the production capacity.

Due to the use of specific chemical components, the drying of barrier coatings is very sensitive. If drying is not properly done, the coating surface may close too quickly while the coating is not completely dried and therefore creating quality problems such as blistering, bubbles. Ircon-Solaronics developed a specific UniDryer infrared system that combines both convection and radiation heat transfers in one integrated system. With this system, the drying is done smoothly, and the temperature of the product is carefully controlled. Therefore, the UniDryer is far the best non-contact dryer for barrier coating and other specialities.
